THEOLOGICAL RESOURCES
WAYNE GRUDEM
Business people I talked to want to know God more deeply, but find most theology textbooks to be a bit rough to read. I’ve found Wayne Grudem’s content to be wonderfully accurate and still readable. Check out the shorter, Christian Beliefs: Twenty Basics Every Christian Should Know Or his longer, Systematic Theology: An Introduction to Biblical Doctrine. Both are superb.
RANDY ALCORN
Honestly, I can recommend everything he’s written. Treasure Principle is a classic, very short and wonderfully effective read. The longer form of that is called Money, Possessions, and Eternity, and the midsize version is Managing God’s Money. All are great. However, my favorite work of Randy’s is the Law of Rewards. In it he combines his focus on the money and heaven. Yet it is still short and powerfully effective.
C. H. Spurgeon
I honestly wish that I could sit down and love to read the old theologians, like Spurgeon. Alas I do not currently. C.H. Spurgeon on Spiritual Leadership by Steve Miller is a fantastic way to engage Spurgeon’s work, primarily with extended quotes, with added color commentary. An excellent yet fairly easy read work.
Steve Farrar
Finishing Strong: Going the Distance for Your Family is potentially the easiest to read book on the list. Filled with stories and scriptural examples on how to finish strong. Wonderfully challenging, winsome and a great read. Highly recommend it!
C. S. LEWIS
Mere Christianity might be my “favorite-not-the-Bible” book of all time. Lewis is wonderfully logical and after all these years is still highly relevant. It’s a Christian classic!
